JAMAICA TRACK NOTES 1 Eddie Hodgson arrived from Miami and will remain for the season. Seventeen clubhouse commissioners cut in for the opening. Benny Silverman made his first appearance on the block in three years. He is fully recovered from the illness that he contracted three years ago. Jockey Harry Richards departed for Havre de Grace immediately after the running of the Paumonok Handicap. Walter Carter, in discussing the plans for his three-year-old Clodion, said that the colt will be started in an overnight race before starting in the Wood Memorial. J. H. Stotler arrived from Havre de Grace to saddle the A. G. Vanderbilt colorbearera th; Paumnok. The horses will be t0 Havro de Grace aUer the evwit Walter Vosburgh, former Jockey Club handicapper, witnessed the opening of the season from a clubhouse box. The veteran witnessed every running of the Belmont Stakes since its inception. Charles Thierot entertained a party at luncheon and marveled at the many improvements to the plant. A. G. Vanderbilt was on hand to witness his colorbearers run in the Paumonok. Jockey R. Workman, senior rider for the C. V. Whitney stable, accepted mounts Thursday. He said that he would likely report back to trainer T. J. Healcy at Lexington next week. George Burke arrived from Havre de Grace and will remain for the season. Jockey R. Workman reported to trainer Jack Healy at Belmont Park. Workman will accept mounts here.
