CARL B., a strong factor from the start and steadied along for a mile, drew clear when called upon, responded to strong urging when tiring and outfinished OPEN HEARTH. The latter, far back for a half mile, raced wide when improving its position and just failed to get up. LATER ON, outrun for a mile, was sent to the extreme outside when racing forwardly and finished strongly. COMRADESHIP worked his way forward through the Held and tired near the end. JOAN MACAW tired. The latter worked his way forward on the outside, forged to the front in the final eighth, but failed to withstand the winner. SPEED LIMIT was hustled into a clear lead early, increased his advantage under light urging, saved ground on the stretch turn and tired in the final eighth. MISS FIREFLY, hustled along from the start, tired after offering a bold bid approaching the stretch. REDRESS finished strongly. POMPOUS GENIE, well up from the start, dropped back after five-eighths, came fast on the inside in the drive, but tired. GRANDPAS BOY and ANKLETS were outrun. Corrected weight Anklets, 105.
