! ARLINGTON DOWNS NOTES i American Lass foaled a filly last week at Kingsville, Texas, where she was sent to be bred to Phalaros. R. O. Burns, Dallas sportsman, was removed to a hospital for an emergency appendectomy. Thirty-eight claims were filed during the first twenty-three days of the current meeting. Bright Land, which was acquired by C. Andrade III., and Hope Eternal, which went to Mrs. Sam Orr, changed hands at the top price of ,000 each. Former jockey Frank Kurinec, who recently was granted a trainers license, purchased Dixie Fox and Scotch Thistle from the Blue Ribbon stable. Presiding steward Samuel C. Nuckols will fly to Louisville to be on hand for the opening of the Churchill Downs season Saturday.- He will leave here Friday night and Trav Daniel will take his place in the stewards stand for the final days program.
