DOROTHY ROCK broke fast from the outside position, got to the leader entering the final eighth, then hung near the end. JACQUELINE M., away smartly, could not keep up as though not liking the going. ALICE HIGHLAND, in close quarters leaving the back stretch, was eased back and, taken to the outside, moved up fast, but tired in the stretch. COMMUNIST, lucky to get through between horses on the lower turn, started up on the outside of the second turn, came to the inside of PAT C. and hung near the end. The latter, away well and saving ground on the first turn while bidding for the lead, was taken to the outside leaving the back stretch, bore out slightly turning for home and tired in the final eighth. NATALIE ALICE lacked early speed, but moved up fast on the outside in the final three-eighths. COL. JULIAN showed slight speed entering the stretch. LUMINTA was through after five-eighths. INTRODUCTORY, in nearest pursuit of the early pace while under slight restraint, tired in the final quarter. THE WHIG broke fast, but lacked speed. GROVER O. was outrun.
