Start poor and slow. Won easily; second and third driving. MICROPHONE broke in motion and drew away into a safe lead, was rated along steadily while saving ground and had speed in reserve at the end. COUNT RAE, away slowly, improved his position steadily and closed with determination on the outside at the end. ELWAWA raced forwardly from the start, disposed of MY KIN in the stretch and then hung at the finish. GOLDEN VEIN, away slowly and outrun to the stretch turn, made up ground under urging. FLYING CENTAUR was away in a tangle and was outrun. MAXINE F. showed a flash of early speed and then quit. LARRIGAN was outrun all the way. Overweight Maxine F., 2 pounds. SECOND RACE 3-4 MILE. MERRY PETE raced forwardly from the start and came around the leaders entering the stretch responded to urging and wore down ROYAL REIGII in the final drive. The latter moved up with a rush oi the outside after the start, forced a fast early pace, shook off JUNGLE CHASE entering the stretch, bul hung in the final seventy yards. STRABO was caught in close quarters in the first eighth and, shuffled back improved his position thereafter and finished well. JUNGLE CHASE showed early speed from the start whil saving ground and had no mishaps. BELLE ELAN was in close quarters on the insde rounding the fal turn. STALAGMITE closed steadily from a slow beginning. CHAUVIN was away slowly and outrun, thes closed steadily to pass tired horses. WULFSTAN showed a flash of early speed and had no mishaps. MIYAKO showed speed from the start, shook off SING LOW entering the stretch and held cn well. SING LOW showed speed from the start while saving ground and had no mishaps. GAYSET was sent into contention with a rush and then hung under urging. MIXED WEATHER began slowly, but could not menace the leaders. HISTORIC ERA broke fast and then dropped back. WAM raced forwardly from the start, had no mishaps and was not persevered with when he quit. MAHDI was shuffled back on the inside in the first sixteenth and was outrun thereafter.
