BURNING STARS HANDY WORK Shandon Farm Stables Derby Eligible Gallops Mile and an Eighth in Slop in 1:58. LEXINGTON, Ky., April 28. Burning Star, Shandon Farms Kentucky Derby eligible whose victorious effort here was sufficient" for his connections to prepare him further for the Churchill Downs event, was sent a mile and one furlong over a sloppy track at Keeneland this morning by trainer J. J. Greely, Jr. Breaking at the sixteenth post on the mile and one-sixteenth track, the son of Burning Blaze ran the distance in 1:58 in handy fashion. He was timed the opening quarter in :25, the half in :51, three-quarters in 1:19 and the mile in 1:45!. He was under steady restraint all the way and came out of his effort in excellent condition. Very likely, the Shandon Farm colt will be called upon to race again at, Churchill Downs on Saturday, or the early part of the week.
