LE KSAR WINS 2,000 GUINEAS French Horses First and Second in First English Classic Foray Finishes Unplaced. NEWMARKET, England, April 28. Two French horses, Le Ksar and Goya II., ran one-two today in the Two Thousand Guineas at Newmarket, first classic race of the flat season. Mid Day Sun was third. Le Ksar, the winner, is owned by Edouard De Stalary, of France, and was ridden by C. H. Semblat Goya IL, owned by Marcel Boussac, was ridden by Charles Elliott Mid Day Sun, owned by Mrs. G. B. Miller, was ridden by Thomas Lowery. Le Ksar, which paid 20 to 1 in the betting, won by four lengths. Goya II. was backed at 7 to 1 to win and finished half a length ahead of the show horse, which was played at 25 to 1. Eighteen started. Le Ksar covered the mile in 1:44. Fair Ford, owned by W. Murray, started the favorite at 11 to 4. Fair Ford, favorite for the English Derby in June, replaced Marshall Fields American horse, Foray, as favorite a few minutes before the start Fair Copy finished fourth and Foray fifth. Foray was second favorite at 9 to 2.
