RICHARD AT NARRAGANSETT Creech Eider to Perform Before New England Fans Contract Owner Praises Boy. PAWT UCKET, R. X, April 28. Jackie Richard, twenty years old and weighing 100 .pounds, the riding sensation whose debut in Texas this winter set all tongues a-chattering, was a welcome arrival at Narragansett Park this morning. Richard is apprenticed to Benny Creech, the old maestro, than whom there i3 no better when it comes to developing knights of the pigskin. Benny taught Charlie Stevenson practically all he knows of the art of winning races which is plenty and Mr. Creech this morning was expounding his theory that Richard has all the makings to go even or maybe one better than Stevenson. Young Richard escaped from the maiden rider ranks at Epsom Downs and to show the performance was no fluke, proceeded with the cavalcade to Alamo Downs, where he rode nineteen winners in twenty-two days to carry off the riding honors of the meeting. Closely resembling Charlie Stevenson in build, Richard is reputed a fine judge of pace and a tremendously powerful whip rider. They do say that Creech traded a horse for Jackies contract, but Creech is admitting nothing beyond the fact that Jockey Richard will be a revelation to New England eyes. Incidentally, accompanying Richard, was the main division of the Creech racers.
