I DENEMARKS SIGN GILPIN- I WILL RACE IN CHICAGO t. The stable of Mrs. Emil Denemark, contrary to previous reports, will be campaigned on the Chicago tracks this year. They will be returned to Washington Park immediately after the close of the Pimlico meeting, where the stable is now racing. This change in plans was revealed by Mr. Denemark Wednesday in connection with his announcement of the signing of Frank Gilpin to succeed Bert Michell as trainer of the Denemark string, one of the most formidable in the country. The Illinois Derby, to be run at Aurora May 22, profits by the Denemarks change in plans, for Prairie Dog and Orientalist will face the barrier in that 2,000 stake, according to the Chicago sportsman. TWO DIVISIONS. The string will be held intact for the Washington Park and Arlington Park, meetings, then will be split into two divisions, one to remain in Chicago and the other to be shipped to Saratoga. Two Bob and Finance, and possibly Chance Ray, will carry the stable silks in the 0,000 Dixie Handicap at Pilmico, May 8. Gilpin is scheduled to take charge of the string on May 1. Michell, whom he succeeds, is under a sixty-day suspension in connection with the doping of All Round at Tropical Park. Michell was recently cleared by the Florida Racing Commision of any connection with the doping, but the Florida rules hold him responsible, hence the suspension, which he is now fighting. The engagement of Gilpin is permanent. Michell will not return to the stable when his suspension terminates, . - .
