All of the sextette are eligible for the Kentucky Derby, and their performances over the mile and one furlong distance may determine whether they shall be given further consideration for the Churchill Downs classic. Prospects for good conditions for the Blue Grass running were not bright today with the track expected to be good at best, but more likely heavy or slow because of the promise of further rain. The temperature today, however, showed a welcome rise. Keeneland officials are hoping for good weather tomorrow, because an excellent crowd would result in 4 brilliant finish to a successful meeting. Entered for the Blue Grass Stakes are Edward R. Bradleys Brooklyn and Billionaire, Calumet Farms Gosum and Galsun, Maxwell Howards Fencing, and Hal Price Headleys Old Nassau, the last named colt being the only member of the group to have won at the meeting. Old Nassaus victory was scored over a good track in which Grey Gold finished third. All of the events in which the Blue Grass candidates started were over the mile and one-sixteenth distance, a sixteenth shorter than the route of tomorrows race.
