SOUTHERN WAY, hustled along close to the pace in the early stages, moved to the front of MAID OF PERTH on the inside after entering the stretch and had enough left at the end to hold PAT W. The latter made a game move on the outside in the stretch and was pressing the winner at the finish. MAID OF PERTH outbroke the others and set a good pace, but tired in the run home. EMIGRANTE could not keep up and seems to want mud for its best effort. VIEWPOINT was taken up when in close quarters and can do better. SUN TRYST pulled up sore.
