JOLLY DUCHESS was rushed into a short lead, raced VEDALIA into submission and rallied strongly In the drive through the stretch. DARE BUNNY raced forwardly on the outside, responded gamely to improve his position, but could not threaten the winner. VEDALIA forced a steady pace for five-eighths, then tired while inclined to lug toward the inside in the stretch drive and pulled up slightly lame. MISS SELECTION failed to reach the leaders at any stage. DULIE closed ground from a slow beginning. RED JACK raced well placed, but was permitted to come very wide into the stretch. DAY IS DONE began slowly, circled her field when in fuli stride and was wearing down the winner at every Stride nearing the close. HIBLAZE was in the first flight from the beginning and held on willingly to the finish. LONG WAVE showed good speed and had no excuses. BRYONIN was prominent early." MISS OAK raced evenly throughout. GHOSTFLYER, forced to race on the outside when outpaced in the first quarter mile, reached the leaders rapidly on the stretch turn, crowded over on GOOD ODDS when moving into the lead midway of the stretch and held on strongly to the end. He was disqualified for fouling GOOD ODDS. The latter was hustled along from the start, slipped through on the inside entering the stretch, was blocked by GHOST-FLYER and fought it out determinedly after recovering. SATIN MARVEL swung to the outside and finished stoutly in the stretch drive. THROTTLE WIDE was used up racing with GAY AMAZON and tired. OUR CHUCKIE was a keen factor for three-eighths, then tired. DEVILS PACE was taken under light reserve when racing closest to FLOSILDA in the early racing, responded courageously when placed to a drive in the last three-sixteenths, rallied to punishment in the stretch drive and was up in the last sixteenth. FLOSILDA opened up a long lead in the first three-quarters when kept under intermittent punishment, saved ground all the way, but tired when straightened into the stretch. BOGERTIN improved his position gradually and was easily best of the others. JUSTA FLIGHT raced evenly. STROPHE came exceedingly wide in the last sixteenth. ROSS could not reach contention. PARAVANT, losing ground from the start, moved up . stoutly on the final turn, but faltered in the last eighth. SAIDONA was racing gamely near the close. PATIENT SAINT, racing as if sore, came full of run in the last five-sixteenths. RED LABEL and THE MAULER were done in the first three-quarters. JIMMY D. tired early.
