PRINCIPESSA moved through on the inside to take command nearing the far turn, opened up a good lead, came extremely wide to the stretch and held sway to the end. JOE D. was prominently placed the entire trip, moved through on the inside of the winner straightening out in the stretch and continued gamely to the close. BLOOMER GIRL went forwardly placed all the way. MAD KERRY, outrun for the first half mile, closed some ground through the last quarter mile. NEIGHBORLY, outside in the run down the back stretch, displayed a brief flash of speed nearing the far turn, but was unable to close any ground thereafter and may not have fancied the going. REGAL LINK, away well, gained a slight lead during the opening eighth, increased her lead when leaving the back stretih, drew out in the last three sixteenths, winning with speed to spare. LADY HAV made a game bid to go along with the early leaders, was forced to drop back rounding from the back stretch, began working her way forward the last five-sixteenths and closed with good energy, but was unable to threaten the winner. ARROW SONG went prominently placed from the start, but was unable to keep pace during the closing quarter mile. HAPPY KNOT went to the front soon after the start, was under steadying restraint while establishing the pace the opening three-eighths, drew out thereafter, but was under punishment to the end to hold SPURLIN safe. SPURLIN worked his way up steadily after rounding the far turn, came to the outside and closed with good energy under pressure. SQUAW KER moved up willingly in the run down the back stretch while disputing the early lead and tired steadily in the last five-sixteenths. DICK MERRILL, slow to beiin. began working his way up midway down the back stretch, responded gamely to hard riding, on the outside throush the stretch, was along in the closing strides. FELSA outran her field to the first turn, opened up a good lead, was steadied along in front, rallied gamely to punishment and just failed to last. BALLYSTRATFORD. in closest pursuit of the early pace, tired in the last five-sixteenths and was doing his utmost during the late stages to save third from GARDEN MESSAGE. The latter, unable to keep the pace early, was going willingly at the finish. PRE WAR, well placed early, dropped back steadily and would not extend himself when placed under punishment. MEDIUS DIES was rated along back of the pace established by CASINGHEAD, wore down the latter when called upon, opened up a good lead and was kept under pressure through the stretch, though never seriously threatened thereafter. CASINGHEAD, at home in the going, displayed good speed, was rated in front, continued willingly to the close, but was no match for the winner. JERRY S. trailed until leaving the back stretch and closed with a belated rush, getting up in the last stride to overtake HATS OFF. The latter, in close quarters on the first turn and on the inside straightening out in the back stretch, was under urging in an effort to reach the leaders, but was unable to improve her position materially and tired right at the end. INSCRIPTION was never prominent. WHITE HOT raced into command immediately, drew clear straightening out in the back stretch, was rated in front, met determined opposition from GERALD nearing the stretch and held him safe to the end. GERALD, under slight reserve while following in pursuit of the pace, moved up menacingly midway of the turn, was unable to overhaul the leaders and yielded ground slowly the last three-sixteenths. HIGH VELOCITY, taken in hand at the start and sent through on the inside on the First turn, was taken to the outside in the back stretch, moved up willingly nearing the far turn, but was unable to close any ground thereafter. STAR LOOM took command at once, opened up a good lead, increased her advantage nearing the far turn, came wide into the stretch, drawing out steadily in the last eighth. WROUGHT IRON, unable to keep the pace early, moved up on the inside leaving the back stretch, saved many lengths going into the stretch and held on well to the close. VAN NUYS saved ground at the first turn, was unable to keep up, but wore down the tiring DANCING CLOUD through the stretch. DANCING CLOUD, roused several times to keep up early, made a determined bid to reach the pacemakers, but was not good enough and tired in the last three-eighths. The others were outrun. BLUE KING moved up gradually in the run down the back stretch, although unable to close any ground during; the last three-eighths. MORALIST, under stout restraint early, was eased back and sent to the outside rounding the first turn. He was unable to keep the pace during the last half mile. SLY MISS trailed from the start.
