COBE moved up fast on the outside after the start, showed good speed in the going under mild restraint and held his opposition safe to the end. ROCKY MARGOT was kept in near pursuit of the pace from the start made a determined bid when straightened out in the stretch and finished well. POLLY B. was blocked at the far turn, was then steered to the outside and made up some ground slowly. WANTARUN was well up m the early stages, but faltered in the stretch run. Won driving; second and third the same. SEA TED showed speed on the flat while jumping well, responded when urged the final turn of the field and, wearing down LONG SHOT, drew away. LONG SHOT, sent into command after the start, was under restraint and held on well to the end. BRIAR BLUE, close up throughout, outlasted MELLERAY PASS in the final drive. The latter, away poorly and outrun the first part, made up ground steadily and finished well. ROUSTABOUT dropped back after the start and showed a dull effort. VAUXTOI raced evenly all the way. MON DOIT, shuffled back in the final eighth, improved his position steadily thereafter and finished fast. WHISK UP was slow to begin, responded in the stretch run and finished well. DIAVOLITE dropped back after the start, then finished well through the final eiehth on the inside. RED JACK and MAEBEAU both showed early speed but quit badly. RASH HURRY had a flash of early speed. GASPAR DE SALO was under pressure from the start, came to the outside of the leaders turning for home and finished well. GAURISANKAR, suited in the going and close to the pace from the start, responded to urging after circling the leaders entering the stretch and drew away at the finish. MAECLOUD, well up and under restraint, saved ground entering the stretch and finished gamely. CHIEF CHEROKEE was sent into command after the start, was rated along steadily, but faltered under urging at the end. OLD STORY made up some ground from a slow beeinning. HEADIN HOME, well up and on the inside in the running, had no mishaps. EARLY SETTLER trailed to the stretch turn. TORBELLINO had no mishaps. Scratched— 54650 Palan, 117. SIXTH RACE 1 1-16 MILES. SEED showed speed under restraint, but faltered in the final eighth. BLOX was placed under pressure turning for home, then faltered. YOUR BUDDY had speed for five-eighths.
