AURORA RIDER INJURED Apprentice Willie McCadden Suffers Severe Injury to Shoulder. Playki Stumbles and Falls in Third Race — Two Other Riders Escape With Only Minor Bruises. AURORA, 111., May 27. — Apprentice William McCadden suffered a possible fractured shoulder in a fall which marred the running of the third race at Aurora this afternoon. The boy was hurt when his mount. Playki, stumbled and fell on the turn. He was given a superficial examination at the track hospital, and while a fracture was feared no definite announcement could be made until X-ray examinations could be made. McCadden, who has been riding with a fair measure of success, is under contract to "Butsey" Hernandez, owner of Playki. The horse did not appear to be hurt. The race, a contest of five and a half furlongs was won by W. Walters Last Hop, with Goldkin second and Charmed One third. Two other riders who suffered minor injuries were H. Litzenberger and A. Schlen-ker, both of whom cancelled their mounts after the first race. Both of them aggravated injuries suffered previously. EARLY SHOWERS. Todays sport, the semi-final program at the local course, was witnessed by a good sized crowd in spite of rain which fell just | before the first race. The showers stopped after the second and the track was no worse than slow. The entire card was given over to the selling platers but they provided interesting sport. Among the more popular winners of the afternoon was the Corsicana Stables Maderis, which accounted for the fourth race, decided over five and a half furlongs. Scoring his second straight win, Maderis, handled by Albert Bodiou, made every pole a winning one as Allegory came up to take the place and Lady Lorene ran third. Among other winners today were Mrs. B. Hernandezs Jackknife, Mrs. S. Gorbets Royal Leon and J. H. Peytons Altena. Royal Leon pulled up lame after achieving his victory in the second race.
