I j I I BELMONT PARK TURF NOTES | 9 ■ ■■» Trainer Bill Brennan reported that two-year-olds in the stable are on the ailing list and are slowly recovering from the coughing. Hirsch Jacobs received word Thursday that five Chilean-breds would be shipped here from Valparaiso on May 30. Ad Lib, owned by S. Walter Baltazzi, was tampered with on Wednesday, which brought about his withdrawal from the steeplechase event. A specimen of his saliva was sent to the laboratory to be analyzed for drugs. Steeplechase Jockey Mr. W. Jones carried thirteen pounds overweight in the steeplechase race, which Al Burlen recalled was fifteen pounds less than an amateur rider carried at one of the hunts meetings held on the old Terminal course a dozen years ago. Sixteen yearlings, owned by J. H. Whitney, are due at Saratoga from the farm in Kentucky. The youngsters will be given preliminary lessons late in the fall. The veteran horseman P. J. Malone, or anyone knowing his whereabouts, is requested to communicate with Roger Minton at Belmont Park. Jockey Eddie Arcaro left for Aurora where he will ride one of the Greentree starters in the Derby. On Monday he will ride in the Bashford Manor at Louisville and be back here on Tuesday.
