FAIR GROUNDS TURF NOTES $ s Norman J. Le Blanc, of Maringuoin, La., who has been here about a week, is conditioning Sound Wave, Tacheone and Saleswoman for his brother, C. P. Le Blanc, and Oddesa Maid, Xpert Girl and three yearlings for F. J. Demara. Le Blanc is also expecting five additional horses from the Demara farm at Orange, Texas. Jockey Harold West, who makes his home here, has been in the Crescent City for a month. West hopes to make a connection in a few days with one of the larger stables quartered here. Jockey Andrew LoTurco has signed to do the saddle work for Harold Nellor, who has eleven head at the Fair Grounds. In addition to Skippy McGee, Wild Love, Linter, Jubilee C, Heidi and Chicken Lady, Nellor has four- yearlings .here which he purchased at the recent sales at Lexington. The smallest string in many years will sport the silks of Marion Allen during the local meeting. Allen has on the grounds Brides Delight, Born Lucky, Aurebon, and a yearling filly by Color Sergeant Bride o the Wind. Allen raced the dam of the yearling over the local track and is still in possession of the mare. The good two-year-old My Day and the veteran Maystick are also in his charge and race for his brother, H. A. Allen. Cooper Phelps was an arrival from Detroit and announced he would make the riding engagements for jockey R. L. Vedder during the Fair Grounds meeting. The only horse J. B. Jenkins has at this time is the four-year-old Manners Queen. He is hopeful of adding to his stable during the long local meeting.
