I NEW YORK TURF NOTES a i Rigan McKinney left for Baltimore and will ride one of the Thomas Hitchcock starters in the steeplechase there on Monday. Volitant, which finished second in the Walden Handicap at Pimlico, was returned to Aqueduct by trainer Clausen. Jockey Sidney Hebert is planning on a New Orleans invasion where he will ride during the winter. The Val Crane horses were shipped to Louisville, Ky., from Aqueduct and will go into winter quarters there. Henry Cohn, associated with Frank Shannon, will go to Havana for the winter season. Julius Bowman will serve as one of the pricemakers at Oriental Park, it was learned. He will be associated with Sol Ellenburg. Bill Myron, following the Hunts meeting left for Baltimore to await the opening at Bowie. Bob Smith will spend a few days at his Newark Delaware farm and then go to Miami to await the opening there. George H. Bull returned from Pimlico, where he, with John Morris, went to see Volitant race in the Walden. Wireless reports from Jack Campbell, who is cruising Maryland waters in search of ducks, is to the effect that Francis Dunne is neither a good shot nor a good cook, but a topnotch feeder.
