NARRAGANSETT PARK NOTES I s Ivan Parke shipped his string to New Orleans today. Trainer George Mayberry will ship a large string to Tropical Park. They will include three of B. F. Listers horses, three of M. H. Charles and eight of Bill Hartmans. Mr. Hartman, who is convalescing from an illness, has been ordered by his doctor to spend the winter in the South. Mrs. E. G. Lewis arrived to watch her horse, Great Union, run in the Rhode Island Handicap tomorrow. Apprentice A. Snider, who injured his foot Thursday, has been forced to cancel his mounts for the remainder of the week. He will be back in the saddle on Tuesday. A. J. Halliwell, Canadian sportsman, whose stable has had considerable success here, is entertaining a party of friends from the Dominion. Mr. Burke, Mr. Hardy and Mr. Prichard will remain to witness the running of the Rhode Island Handicap. J. G. Brown will ship to New Orleans at the close of the present meeting. An auction sale of horses in training will be conducted in the paddock at 10 oclock Saturday. Notices to that effect were posted in the racing secretarys office Friday morning. A. G. Blakely reports that Gracious Gift II., son of Friar Marcus and Tangelo, which arrived in this country from England last spring, bowed while being worked and will be turned out.
