1 SHREVEPORT TURF NOTES f S Chester Adams Friday registered the horses, Dark Amber and Claflag, which he brought to Shreveport for Mrs. E. E. Albright. Jockey Mike Pantone, who sustained a fractured collarbone in a fall here several days ago, was released from the hospital, but it will be some time before he is able to resume riding. R. A. Simms brought two horses from Sportsmans Park for Mrs. Mary Parge. They are Pumice Stone and Jim McConnell. Bob Friend, well-known racing official, and his wife, came over from their home in Lubbock, Texas, and will take in several days of racing here. Marble Girl and Textimes, owned by Mrs. J. Herridge, were shipped to Omaha Thursday night to be rested. Two late arrivals here are C. N. Brewer, who has Weedidit and Cornelia Powell for himself and J. S. Bell, who registered Stone-crop for Cecelia Mercier. Tom B. Miller, Oklahoma turfman, whose horses are being freshened up in New Orleans since r the close of the- Fairmount Park meeting, came from the Crescent City to view the holiday program. Mont Sanders, old-time horseman, arrived here from Benton, 111., and will remain until the meeting closes. Spotts reported the purchase of the plater, Todyland, for a private consideration and turned the horse over to I. Shields to train for future racing. Charles Rothwell checked in Friday and brought with him the plater, Jobioso, a winner during the recent Sportsmans Park meeting. J. J. Miller took over the horse, Amo Jay, i a two-year-old filly, to train for Frank Ledoux. i jf -
