HAPPY ROAD worked his way up steadily and, closing with good energy through the stretch, just failed to be along in time. COUNT RAE was slow to begin and was unable to keep pace early, then finished with good couiage in the closing drive. BLADE EDGE moved up boldly on the outside nearing the far turn, hut was unable to close an appreciable amount of ground thereafter. HIGH FINANCE was prominently placed until the last quarter mile, then yielded ground steadily in the last three-sixteenths. LUNSFORD quit badly after showing speed for a half mile.
