ELMER SHAFER LEASES TEN; JTen Youngsters Owned by Coldstream Stud To Race for Young Chicago Owner. LEXINGTON, Ky., Nov. 14. Manager Charles Kenny, of Coldstream Stud, reports that ten coming two-year-olds owned by C. B. Shafer have been leased to Elmer Dale Shafer, son of C. B. Shafer, for their racing careers and have been named as follows: Manakoora, br. f, by Bull Dog Fiji, by Bostonian. Fire Cracker, ch. f, by Pot au Feu Gentle Play, by My Play. Bordeaux Bull, br. c, by Bull Dog Glen Lass, by Trap Rock. Lochee, ch. g, by Pot au Feu Swift Rose, by Lord Swift. Summertime, br. f, by Bull Dog Rose Leaves, by Ballot. Ever After, b. f, by Dark Hero Rose Eternal, by Eternal. Gourmet, ch. g, by Pot au Feu Joybird, by Bull Dog. Best Away, b. f, by Bull Dog Nimble Hoof, by Sweep. Dinner Horn, ch. f, by Pot au Feu Top Horn, by Bull Dog. Devils Broth, ch. g, by Pot au Feu Elma Star, by North Star in. There are two others in the string at Coldstream Stud which are the property of David M. Rhodes, of Chicago, a brother-in-law of Mr. C. B. Shafer. They are: Bully Time, b. f, by Bull Dog Live Time, by High Time, and Tenacious, b. c, by Bull Dog Luscina by Luke McLuke. The name Lochee was given to the Swift Rose gelding as a compliment to W. T. Murray, the Coldstream Studs very capable office manager who comes from Lochee, Scotland, and has been for more than a quarter of a century on the staff of Mr. Shafer. Summertime is a sister to Bull Lea, which has performed so well under Calumet Farm silks for Warren Wright.
