Dunne, another official at the Prince Georges County track. Jockey Harry Richards packed his riding tack and departed late Saturday night for San Diego, Calif. Ricliards stated that he will have the mount on Volitant should the Saratoga Stable colt start in the three-year-old specials at the grounds of the Miami I Jockey Club. H. Guy Bedwell, who trains the horses of I A. C. Compton among others, is endeavoring I to purchase the contract which Ralph Mc-i Ilvain holds on Vine Polk, a 100-pound ap-i prentice. Polk arrived Saturday from New York. I Jack Skinner, acting for James Brady, sold Caught, which performs through the field and on the flat, to Hirsch Jacobs. L. P. Harlan has decided to keep the Charles S. Bromley horses here and van , them to Bowie when they get a chance to j race during the Southern Maryland Agri- cultural Associations thirteen-day session, j Doug West, Al Tryon, Mannie Berg, R. j Scott, Lou Machado, Tommy Fowler, Johnny .Shanks, Anthony Diliddo and George Witmer are some of the boys now riding here, who will accept mounts during the Charles Town Jockey Clubs fifteen-day meeting, beginning December 1, at Charles Town, West Virginia. Owner-trainer Thomas Hitchcock is planning to send his entire stable of jumpers to winter quarters at Aiken, S. C, after the running of the ,000 Manly Memorial Steeplechase on Monday. Tommy Bonham sold the two-year-old War Trade at private terms to Harold Hoffman. Trainer Ed Snjder will ship fifteen of T. P. Morgans horses to the farm in Texas. Tom Smith, acting for Charles S. Howard, purchased the two-year-old Hy Camp at private terms from T. P. Morgan. Joe Baker, who races a small string on state tracks, has been elected sheriff at Hagerstown, Maryland. Word also arrived from the Hub City that Dr. A. J. Sullivan, who serves as veterinarian for the Hagers- town Fair Association, had been elected commissioner for Washington County. I Everett Brining shipped five horses q Hagerstown, where they will be kept in training for the Charles Town, W. Va., meeting, beginning December 1. Brining is shipping the remainder of his charges down to Bowie for the thirteen-day session, beginning Wednesday. Trainer Pete Coyne has arranged to ship the Joseph E. Widener horses on Tuesday to Elmendorf Farm at Lexington, Ky. Coyne will later take a division of the stable to the winter racing at Hialeah Park, Fla. Jockey Earl Porter and agent Al Davis were arrivals from Narragansett Park, R. I. Porter will remain in Maryland until Bowie winds up the Old Line States 19.38 campaign on November 30. Trainer B. B. Rice has arranged to ship nine horses for Hazel M. Babylon and others to New Orleans at the conclusion of this meeting. o
