ONLY ONE ELSMEADE ARRIVAL Six Mares and Five Weanlings Accompany Howe Stallion to Lexington Stud Farm. LEXINGTON, Ky., Nov. 14. The stallion Only One, six mares and five weanlings, the property of the Howe stable, arrived here today from Pagebrook Farm, Boyce, Va. They were delivered to C. White, manager of Elsmeade Farm, where they are to be domiciled in future. Before leaving for Pimlico Friday afternoon to witness the running of the Futurity today, C. J. FitzGerald stated that he had purchased Prairie Belle, a young daughter of Teddy, from a daughter of Fair Play, with the intention of breeding her next spring to Pharamond II., in the ownership of which stallion he is interested with Hal Price Headley, master of Beaumont Farm, where the son of Phalaris has proved so successful in the stud. Just before his departure, FitzGerald also bought Roy Carruthers half interest in the weanling bay colt by Challenger II., from the good mare After Dark, which was sold last month at the Lexington sales to George D. Widener by Carruthers and FitzGerald for ,700. This weanling was removed from i Slickaway Farm to Howard Oots Fayette i Farm and from whence he will very likely be sent to the sales at Saratoga next August. He is a grand looking individual.
