EARL DEW FRACTURES ANKLE NEW ORLEANS, La., Nov. 28. Apprentice Earl Dew suffered a fracture of a bone above the ankle on his left leg when caught in a jam at the three-eighths post in the third race while astride Birds Eye, and canceled his remaining mounts of the day. Dew was removed to Touro Infirmary for X-ray pictures and will be out of the saddle for an indefinite period.
