1 TANFORAN TURF NOTES f Maizie B., Top Tax and Puako have been placed on the stewards list because of lameness and Sassafras because he refused to break. Wm. LeBaron, who will be represented in the Lassie Stakes by Green Jade, is coming up from Hollywood with a party of friends to witness the running of that event. Trainer Guy Owens reports that the two-year-old Rich Son is back in training after having been rested up for six weeks. The youngster was fired for a knee ailment. Retake, a two-year-old, has been placed in training by Ross Cooper. Retake is owned by William LeBaron. D. B. Midkiff, who sold Flying Bonny to Louis B. Mayer, is shipping four head from Santa Anita to Tanforan. Art Sparks, Bay Meadows pari-mutuel chief, is contemplating a trip to Hot Springs in the near future. He will later take in some racing at New Orleans. G. "Doc" OConnell has wired that he is shipping six head to Tanforan from his Whittier, Calif., ranch.
