PAPPAGENO II. MAKES GOOD Special Cablegram. MANCHESTER, England, Nov. 28. One of the biggest betting coups of the racing season was made at the Castle Irwell track here on Saturday when the French-bred three-year-old Pappageno II. easily accounted for the final stake, the mile and one-half -Manchester November Handicap of ,500. Pappageno IT., racing for the Irish sportsman George F. X. Hartigan and trained by his brother Martin G. Hartigan, scored by two lengths over Mrs. Sofer Whitburns Dragonade, with Capt. G. S. Barnes Battle Song a short head away in the field of twenty-six runners. Pappageno II., three-year-old chestnut son of the 1934 Cesare-witch Stakes winner Rose Prince and Kas-sala, paid 100 to 7, and his stable made a killing over his victory, as the horse had been backed down from opening odds of 33 to 1.
