! : It FAIR GROUNDS TURF NOTES ! and e Michigan Miss, the property of Joe W. Brown which was formerly trained by F. C Dunn, has been added to the main division of the big outfit which is in charge of J. B. Theall. Lou Keller, New Orleans turfman, has been engaged to train Dan Skilling for Mrs. Rob-i ert Virgets, Crescent City sportswoman, who ! will have her colors on display for the first i time this season. Dr. A. Knight, Jr., of the staff of the Tri-State Hospital "of Shreveport, La., and a party of friends came over for a day of racing at the Fair Grounds Friday afternoon, return-ir : home the same night. In addition to the horses he is training for the Blue Ribbon Stock Farm, former jockey I Frank Kurinec has taken over Out of Fire to condition for John B. Thorwald, Dallas sportsman. Harry Hoffman who was granted a trainers license by officials of the Louisiana Jockey JClub, registered the platers Celtic Legend and War Trade. The horses O. L. Foster registered for Mrs. A. R. Smith, Mrs. C. E. Allen and himself, are: Trouper, Frozen Mask,, Teeter Totter, j Solitary, Rebel Flag. Casinghead, Nellie Mc, j Goldman, Medius Dies, Money Saver, Carnival Time, Ipso Facto and Count Cary. The five-year-old chestnut mare Rustic Lassie has been retired from racing and will be bred to a stallion yet to be selected, ac-1 cording to Eddie Drillon. Rustic Lassie is by Greenock, from Country Life. Jockey Frank Collins had his first mounts of the meeting Saturday afternoon at the Fair Grounds.
