! ENTRY RUNS FIRST AND THIRD i t Cooper Pair Split by Blue Breeze in Lassie Stakes at Tanforan Course Saturday. SAN BRUNO, Calif., Nov. 28 The entry of Mrs. R. E. Cooper finished first and third in the fourth running of the Lassie Stakes at Tanforan Saturday afternoon. Mintouri, a daughter of Bistouri Minitairy, was the winner, while Lovely Bells, a filly by Richfield Lovely Hills, was third. The pair was Split by Blue Breeze, a daughter of the Kentucky-bred Blue Larkspur, from the Janss Bros. barn. Mintouri was best, coming from fourth place in the early running to register by over three lengths, with jockey Noel Richardson sitting still. Blue Breeze beat Lovely Bells a half length for second place. The winners time for six furlongs was lzlSlk and the Cooper-Le Baron entry, of which Green Jade was also a member, paid ..20. The entry of Blue Breeze and Pinkus was Blight favorite going to the post, the last reading being 7 to 5, while the Cooper-Le Baron entry was quoted at 8 to 5. Blue Breeze and Lovely Bells went out to make the pace, with Mintouri racing several lengths back and held under restraint by Richardson. Blue Breeze and Lovely Bells battled it out for the leadership until well into the stretch, when they began, to tire and Mintouri came on to take the money. The winners share of the purse was ,350, While Mrs. Cooper also garnered 00 through Lovely Bells finishing third. John McKeon, breeder of the winner, took down 00, while breeders of the second and third horses received 50 and 25, respectively.
