BEGIN TAX SALES County Treasurer Toman has announced that delinquent tax sales involving 450,000 parcels of Cook County real estate, including those of 1937, will begin Monday. According to the law statutes, tax-delinquent properties cannot be sold, but delinquent taxes can be paid by so-called tax buyers. Then, in order to redeem tax-sold realty, the owners have to reimburse the tax buyers with interest charges of 12 per cent every six months for two years.
