j 1 1 ; i 1 3 r t t s s s 1 FIVE SIRES AT ELMENDORF LEXINGTON, Ky., Dec. 16. The largest group of thoroughbred stallions to stand at ths noted Elmendorf Farm here since Joseph E. Widener bought the establishment from Joe and Ed Madden of Lexington in 1921 will make the 1939 breeding season, according to present plans of Mr. Widener. Five sires, including Sickle, champion of 1938, will stand under the Widener banner next season. With Sickle at Elmendorf will be Brevity, Chance Shot and the newcomer, the successful race horse in France this year, Castel Fusano. Haste, the fifth Widener stallion, will be at nearby Kingston Stud, sent there by Mr. Widener pending time that suitable quarters can be provided for him at Elmendorf.
