MAYER STABLE AT HIALEAH First Division of Twelve Yearlings Reaches Miami Course. Shipment in Charge of Trainer R. A. Kindred M-G-M Head Names Five Horses for Widener. MIAMI, Fla., Dec. 16. The first division of the stable which Louis B. Mayer, Hollywood motion picture producer and head of M-G-M Studios, will race here during the January 11 to March 4 meeting, has reached Hia-leah Park. The shipment consisted of twelve yearlings in charge of R. A. Kindred, trainer. They came on from Lexington, Ky., and included the youngsters which were purchased by Mayer at the Saratoga and Lexington sales. Several have been nominated for Hialeahs two-year-old stakes, these to include The Everglades, for fillies, to be run Saturday, February 11, and the Seminole Stakes, for colts and geldings, on Wednesday, February 15. i Undoubtedly a number of the Mayer juveniles will be named for the Hialeah Juvenile Championship on March 4, which is for winners exclusively. This stake does not close until the day before scheduled in order to give promising late developments a chance to enter. NAMES FIVE HORSES. In addition to the two-year-olds which will race here, Mayer has nominated five horses for the 0,000 added Widener, Magic Hour, Quick Devil, Perifox and Brooklyn, while for the 0,000 added Flamingo he has listed Joy Boy and Mask and Wig. The Hialeah horse population has passed the 1,000 mark. To date there are exactly 1,011 thoroughbreds on the ground. Capacity accommodations are 1,250. The Bomar Stable, owned by C. B. Bohn and P. A. Markey of Detroit, arrived at Hialeah in two divisions. Coming from Lexington were Fancy That, Hazel Nut and Detroit Bull, three-year-olds, and four yearlings. From Baltimore came Little Shaver, four-year-old; Ben jam, Mighty Sweet, Bill-mar and Petit Jean, three-year-olds, and Swiss Guard and Carlisle, two-year-olds. These are Blue Marvel, four-year-old; Maneuver, three-year-old, and Pascua, Merry Gesture and Jest Once, two-year-olds. FREDDY HOPKINS STORY. Freddy Hopkins, New York trainer, has four head here, the property of the Large Hill Stable and M. Livingston. Wrenace, a five-year-old; That One, four-year-old; Histrionic, three-year-old, and Buck Benny, two-year-old. J. P. "Sammy" Smith, who trains for Victor Emanuel of New York and the Arcturus Stable, owned by M. K. Schaefer and T. J. Elliot of Chicago, has in charge the horses Isaiah, eight-year-old; Indiana Spa, three-year-old; Bing Bong, West Haddon, Nellie Bly, Far East and Catastrophe, two-year-olds, and three yearlings. Trainer J. M. Black brought from Maryland: Balcony, five-year-old; Joan Asbestos, four-year-old; Jen and Graeme Cracker, three-year-olds; Many Flags, Gaona and Twin Riggin, two-year-olds, and six yearlings.
