1 FAIR GROUNDS TURF NOTES I $ Clyde Troutt reported that the name Fan Dandy has been granted by the registrar of The Jockey Club for the yearling bay colt by Sir Andrew Fan Dancer. The colt is the property of the Illinois turfman. Judge Thomas C. Bradley, who has been representing the West Virginia Racing Commission at the tall meeting staged at Charles Town, is scheduled to return to his-post in the stewards stand at the Fair Grounds Monday and remain in New Orleans for the balance of the winter. J. C. Elfer, local sportsman, who has been without racing material for some time, purchased Stout Heart from Mrs. Elizabeth Oros Friday morning for a private consideration and turned the racer over to W. L. Hatchett to train. Paul Morris, acting for Mrs. Floyd West of Dallas, Texas, purchased the mares Lady Crusader and Watch In from T. E. Buell for a private consideration and they have been sent to the breeding farm of the Texas sportswoman to be used as brood mares. The horses that E. D. "Doc" Slavin brought in from Missouri to be campaigned at the Fair Grounds for the remainder of the winter are Molasses Bill, Big One, Snorky, Fanle and Top Way. They were rested up following the close of the fall meeting at Fairmount Park. Both the Christmas and New Years Handicaps will be decided on Mondays, due to the fact that both of the above mentioned holidays come on Sunday. Convinced that he did not receive any broke- bones in his recent fall, jockey Andy LoTurco will make his return to the saddle Saturday afternoon and has the mount on Waxwing in the Garnet Handicap. Frank J. Grand, local turfman, announced Friday morning, that he traded Morning Cry to the McDee Stable for the two-year-old filly Doodad. Morninj Cry will be shipped to Texas, where she will be used for breeding purposes. J. L. Deaner and G. B. McCamey, owners of the McDee Stable, a Texas establishment, returned to Fort Worth, Texas, after a stay of a week in New Orleans. While here they were daily visitors at the Fair Grounds. When Knee Deep goes postward in the Garnet Handicap. .Saturday afternoon the ; ; three-year-old will be making his initial appearance under colors. for Mrs. R. J. Murphy, who purchased the. racer from J. W. Parrish after the close of the Kentucky season this year.
