I r t j 1 , . 1 i J , , , : : GOLDBLATT HAS SMALL STRING Veteran Cincinnati Turfman Campaigning Only Six Horses at the Fair Grounds Meeting. NEW ORLEANS, La., Dec. 16. Mose Goldblatt, veteran Cincinnati turfman who in New Orleans was a prominent factor racing, since the thoroughbred sport was revived back in 1915, has the smallest collection of racers this season that he has campaigned in the Crescent City. The string consists of six horses, namely, Dnieper, Jamboree, Black Buddy, Dr. Menendez, Cap-puche, Low and Silver Smith. Silver Smith, for which he paid a fancy price some two years ago, was returned to training at the Fair Grounds earlier in the season, but has not shown sufficient good form to be considered a starter in the near future. Prior to sustaining a leg injury, Silver Smith matched strides with some of the top notch performers in the Middle West. The activities of the Goldblatt stable will center on Dnieper, which is capable of showing to advantage in the handicap ranks in this territory. Dnieper and Black Buddy are the only members of the stable that have faced the starter to date. After two failures, Black Buddy graced the winners circle recently for the first triumph in the silks of Goldblatt. For many years Goldblatt handled the western division of the late Harry Payne Whitney, and more recently Cornelius V. Whitneys stables, and during this period showed many top notch jockeys to local racegoers including Johnny Corcoran, Tommy Root, Ivan Parke, Gilbert Elston and others.
