NEVERS LEAVES FOR COAST Ernie Nevers, new coach of the Cardinals pro football team, owned by Charles W. Bid-will, chief owner of the Hawthorne racetrack, left for California Tuesday, to spend the Christmas holidays. Bidwill and Nevers spent Monday afternoon at Evanston, watching the Eastern squad, which will take part in the annual East-West game at San Francisco New Years day, work out under the direction of coaches Andy Kerr and Bernie Bierman. They were very much interested in several members of the squad who are likely to carry the Bidwill cardinal in next years games in the pro league. Several of the Ail-Americans were taken in the draft by Bidwill at New York last week.
