BUILD NON-MAGNETIC SHIP The British Admiralty has ordered construction of a non-magnetic ship that will chart the oceans of the world in a magnetic survey. It will be a three-mast, barken-tine rig of 650 tons and will be named "Research." The ship willbe built of teak-wood and will contain no iron or steel in construction, fittings or equipment. All metal parts will be of copper, brass and bronze, which are non-magnetic and cannot rust.
