VOTE BOY had good speed from the beginning, made the pace under good rating, was hard ridden in the last eighth and tired near the end, but stalled off ROYAL BROOM. The latter, a sharp factor from the beginning, saved ground and closed gamely. DETERMINED, never far back and i hand for a half mile, responded-to pressure thereafter and closed well. IDLE ELF lacked early speed, but made up. ground after three-eighths. MISS APPREHEND bore out. JADVA lost much ground on the turn. MOUNTKALA had good speed from the beginning, but tired in the last quarter. BARBARA S. lacked early speed,, was forced to race wide and failed to rally when shaken up in the final quarter. CELTIC LEGEND, fractious at the post, took command going into the turn without need of strong pressure, was well rated while making the pace and drew out in the final quarter. JOHN DOE, well up and in hand for three-quarters, was vigorously handled thereafter and held on well. ENFIN, badly outrun for three-quarters, rallied thereafter and closed gamely. PRINCE CLOUD began to improve his position after five-eighths and closed strongly. SMITH DAVID moved into a contending position after three-eighths, held on well to the final eighth and then tired under pressure. RAMROD failed to rally when roused after five-eighths. HEREWARD tired after five-eighths. TRA-LA-LA, never a great distance back, was vigorously handled after three-eighths and held on fairly well. CARRIE K. raced evenly. PEGGY BYRD .was in close quarters on the turn and could not reach a contending position. HOLTON was blocked on the turn and lost cround entering the stretch. GOOD OMEN was hard hustled from the break in an attempt to reach the front, then tired under pressure in the drive. LEGAL ADVICE began slowly and was far back for a quarter, improved her position steadily on the outside and finished strongly. DEDICATION was in close quarters early, then improved his position slightly when clear. SADIE F. showed her customarv early speed and gave way after a half mile. GLASBY, taken under snug restraint soon after the start, came to the outside in the last three-eighths and, responding well to strong handling, was up in the last stride. LUCKY STARS rider dropped his whip soon after the start, but was able to keep up in the early stages, saved ground, got through on the inside in the stretch and gained the lead, but was unable to retain her advantage. OZARK followed in closest pursuit of the leader most of the trip and moved up threateningly approaching the final quarter, then faltered. MALEMAN was rushed into a commanding lead quickly, then set the pace for three-quarters and gave way. HOLL IMAGE made up some ground. LITTLE DRIFT bore out on the stretch turn and tired. CHEROKEE RED, well up and in hand for three-quarters, was hard ridden thereafter and held on fairly well. UNION began to improve his position after five-eighths and closed gamely. BIG GAY, hard ridden after three-quarters, could not improve his position. HOUSTONIAN tired after three-quarters. LETSWIN was unprepared for the start and failed to threaten.
