1 S. C. NUCKOLS MOTHER ILL MIAMI, Fla., April 3 Samuel C. Nuckols, steward of the Gables Racing Association, received word prior to the running of the first race Monday informing him that his mother, 86, was seriously ill at her home in Versailles, Ky., and hastily made arrangements to leave Miami Monday night. Mr. Nuckols will not return here but will bide time before the opening at Narragansett Park where he will serve as steward.
