ARDEN LASS, close to the early pace throughout, moved into command near the eighth post and held on resolutely. NOON STEP was sent into a safe lead, but quit badly in the final sixteenth. The latter, restrained early and sent up on the outside for the stretch run, tired near the finish. KEY MAN saved ground on the stretch turn, took command in the stretch, then tired. PHARO WARRIOR showed a good performance. AFFAIR broke in a tangle and, rushed up into close quarters on the inside near the far turn, tired. TOLSON was in close quarters going to the far turn. The latter, a "factor from the start responded gamely to pressure in the stretch and finished well. TURKISH BRAND moved up steadily and closed gamely, in the final eighth. CLEVER GIRL was bothered going to the first turn and cased to the outside was rushed up fast and then tired in the final drive. COUNTER PASS closed a gap. MISS HOLLYWOOD had no mishaps. UNLIMITED could not menace the leaders. MORE POISE came over sharply from the outside. YOMER tired badly in the stretch. WOOD KNOT had no mishaps. CHANCING unseated his rider going to the first turn.
