SATIN ROLLS, close up from the start, raced into a short lead in the stretch, was bumped slightly by WHOOSH midway of the stretch, recovered and held on stubbornly. UPRISING, sluggish in the first sixteenth, settled in stride and closed with belated speed on the inside during the stretch drive. WHOOSH assumed a short lead midway of the turn and rallied with good courage after being displaced. IRISH MIRTH, outpaced for the first eighth, closed resolutely on the outside when reaching the stretch. BALTEE was in tight quarters on the inside rounding the turn and tired in the last eighth. PAL OF MINE showed a good effort. POLLY MACDUN could not get to the leaders. BIRD HAVEN had a rough trip. BLARE was outrun and lost ground. ROLLSBUZZY moved up strongly on the turn to reach the pacemaker, but tired under punishment in the stretch drive. PUZZLE DANCE raced forwardly and had no excuses. HONEYMAID tired fast. GOLD KNIGHTESS, on the outside of the leaders early, challenged strongly midway of the turn, moved into a short lead midway of the stretch, but could not withstand the winner. TULEYRIES LIN was hard ridden while racing prominently and came through on the inside in the stretch to close stoutly. HAPPY HOSTESS came with good speed in the late stages. DROOP displayed good speed while setting the pace, but tired while saving ground in the final drive. MATTAPONY began slowly, then finished with good speed. HALO raced stoutly for five-eighths, then tired. FYAN had no excuses. CANGRIERRON was outrun. BALLY BAY quit. HANTS, away in motion, went into an easy lead, was rated while saving much ground and had enough in reserve to stall off ALMS when lightly shaken up in the final eighth. ALMS, allowed to settle in full stride before being placed to pressure, gained fast in the last half mile and finished with good courage. SUPERSTITION broke very slowly, dropped far back, then closed gamely in the late stages. SAN ANTIOCA, much closer to the pace than usual, raced to the front early and could not stave off the winner while saving much ground. SUMMER HAIL was prominent while racing in spots and held on willingly. THE LAKE showed good early speed, but failed to stay when caught. FRANCO SAXON, badly handled, was kept on the inside and was blocked on the final turn when attempting to drive through. PRADIS came to the outside in the last half mile and closed with good courage. ZELITONE raced forwardly all the way and held on gamely. FIDDLE FADDLE had a rough trip. SCORIA closed a good gap. LYCONNA raced strongly for seven-eighths. CONNIE PLAUT was weakly handled. SIR TIME tired. BOB JUNIOR was used up in the first three-quarters and flattened out.
