FAIR TIME, at home in the going and forwardly placed from the start, opened up a good lead after disposing of ELYLEE and, hard ridden in the closing eighth, was never seriously threatened. QUATERNARY, well placed and reserved for the first half mile, came in determined fashion in the stretch run. STORY TIME, lacking speed to reach the leaders early, came gamely on the outside in the closing test, getting up in the concluding stride to wear down ELYLEE. The latter had good speed, was under occasional pressure in an effort to maintain his advantage, but faltered in the last quarter mile. FAST EXPRESS, prominent early and under punishment to hold to a forward position, tired in the final drive. ERECH was unable to keep up. INACTIVE unseated her rider at the post, was away slowly and raced far back throughout. ROCKY MARGOT, hard ridden early in an effort to better her position, began giving improved speed in the last five-sixteenths, raced wide and was up in the last stride. GALA STAR raced to the front in the opening strides, drew clear in the opening quarter mile, increased his advantage steadily rounding the far turn, but tired in the last sixteenth and just failed to last. WANTARUN, hard hustled in the run down the back stretch, was unable to keep pace during the last quarter mile. PETER PUMPKIN, slow" to begin and outrun early, closed a good gap in the last three-sixteenths. NELLIE Mc was unable to engage the leaders. SEMAPHORE lacked speed and was outrun throughout. GENGIS KHAN II. dropped back steadily in the last three-eighths. SAVING GRACE raced to the front soon after the start, opened up a comfortable lead, but had to be hard ridden through the stretch to hold STAR OF PADULA safe. The latter, in nearest chase of the pace from almost the beginning, finished wearing down the winner steadily. MACIE MARGARET moved up steadily when swinging from the back stretch and saved all possible ground, but was unable to close any • ground in the stretch. NIKK1 B., sharply impeded nearing the far turn, recovered gamely and finished Willingly. TWO CENTS closed a big gap after racing far back for the first half mile. TRANSVINE raced 7! Uride throughout. BLIND EAGLE, taken up repeatedly, e- was brought to the outside in the stretch and closed with good speed, getting up in the closing m stride to wear down LISTARO. The latter had speed from the start, met early opposition from SHES s PlIGHT, disposed of her and, while making a determined effort to go along with the winner when challenged, d, was not equal to the task. BRASS MONKEY made up a lot of ground after trailing early. SIR WINDSOR was unable to enter into serious contention. BOSONIA quit badly after losing command.
