Won easily; second and third driving. • JOBELLE, away swiftly and displaying good speed throughout, shook off repeated early challenges from SELMA MAY, then continued well when mildly urged and held LADY ARLINGTON safe. The latter worked her way up gradually under vigorous handling and closed strongly. SELMA MAY was much used in forcing the pace for three-eighths and tired when placed to pressure in the stretch. MINT DODGE, on the outside throughout, lost considerable ground, but finished strongly. VIVAT began quickly, but dropped back soon thereafter and never threatened. LIGHT ROLLS, hustled into the lead soon after the start and steadied along cleverly, responded readily to brisk rousing in the final stages and just lasted to outstay ROCK HIGH. The latter began slowly, worked his way up between horses and finished strongly. WISE JOYCE, well up from the start and well ridden, held on with good courage. APPLE TIME was unable to keep up in the early stages and finished fast in the final quarter. BELLE MORE tired suddenly after a half mile. CLASHMAN, going in his best form and rushed into the lead quickly, was hard pressed for the First three eighths, drifted out at the stretch turn, but recovered quickly and held BEAUTIFUL BUD safe. The latter worked her way ud on the outside, came fast in the last quarter and was gradually getting to the winner at the end. SWEEP WINE, on the inside all the way and a sharp factor to the last eighth, tired thereafter. ORIENTAL MISS faltered in the drive. THE DENTIST had no mishaps. PRIMA WHISK was much used up in forcing the pace for a half mile, then gave way. IN STEP was always outrun. Scratched— Bcnigna Ace, 105. Overweight — Prima Whisk, 2 pounds. FRITZ HALLAM, hustled into a safe lead soon after the start, was taken under light restraint while setting the pace and, kept in the best part of the track, required strong urging to hold WHAT A PAL safe. The latter, taken up approaching the far turn, was lucky to get through on the inside when improving her position and closed strongly. SHERIFF EUGENE forced the pace from the start and was best of the others. BRYONIN, hard urged to keep up during the first half mile, tired thereafter. PALM ISLAND had no mishaps. MIGHTILY, a sharp factor throughout and saving much ground, held on well in the drive. SKY BALL, never far back and reserved in the early stages, continued gamely when placed to strong pressure. DUSKY PRINCE began slowlv, was forced to race wide when improving his position and tired after reaching a contending position in the last eighth. BROWN BEN could not keep up. ALICE HIGHLAND displayed her customary early speed, but gave way suddenly in the last three sixteenths. MISS PREMIER trailed throughout. The latter, rushed into the lead right at the start and saving giound throughout, continued in courageous manner to the end. but was not good enouirh. BII.LABONG, in close quarters going to the first turn, was taken up sharply, got through on the inside around the turn and showed a eood effort. HASTY RUTH, badly outrun for three quarters, closed a good gap thereafter. SOLDIERS CALL lacked early speed.
