ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, 111., June 14 — More than 50,000 will be distributed to horsemen during the thirty-day meeting opening June 26 at Arlington Park, it was announced by officials of the northside course today. Largest item of this distribution will be upwards of 50,000 in daily purses. Then comes the 6,000 added money to the eight stakes, including the 0,000 added Classic Stakes, which stud the course of Julys most important meeting, and the generous awards for trainers in distance races. Believing that purses should be awarded according to class of competition, the Ar-e lington Park Jockey Club will offer a grad-»z uated scale of purses for the eight-race daily program, but not less than ,000 will be given away each day in purse money. The first issue of the condition book, which will be off the press within a few days, calls for not less than one purse of ,500 or two of ,200 each day. This will make the daily purses average ,000 each. There will be four races at ,000, and for the lower grade of claiming races two races of 00. "It is the general belief among owners and breeders that the bstter horses should race for higher purses than those in the lower claiming brackets, and it is with this prin-jn ciple in mind we have drafted our purse allotment," said Otto W.
