ONLY SON, well handled and steadied along early, responded well when,-.called upon, forged to the front entering the stretch and steadily increased his advantage to win easily. MALMAISON, unprepared at the start and probably the best. was rushed forward after a half mile, responded well in the drive and closed in resolute fashion. MR. HYLAND. reserved for five eighths, took command when ready, drew clear under good urging, was unable to withstand the winner and tired rapidly during the final eighth. MISS PETRINA had no mishaps. LADY TICHNER dropped out of contention and showed nothing. ZEBAR quit. TEDDY BOY was done after five-eighths. Apprentice allowance waived — Miss Petrina. SIXTH RACE 1 MILE AND 70 YARDS. SEED, reserved early, improved his position when ready, raced into command on the outside of GOLD SATIN, drew clear rapidly and, tiring in the late stages, finished under pressure. FRONTIER, hustled along from the start, was taken in hand when impeded, came again when ready and was wearing down the winner. FAUST, lacking his customary early speed and listlessly handled for three-quarters, was taken to the outside approaching the stretch, bore to the inside despite being punished by a left handed rider and finished well. GOLD SATIN, permitted to bear over when reaching the lead, opened up a good lead, gave way to the winner and tired rapidly in the last stages. DISSEMBLER was outrun. SEVENTH RACE 1 MILE AND 70 YARDS. FOXSTER, going in his best form, moved up rapidly when ready, bore over badly when wearing down STRANGE TIMES and won with something to spare. SWEEPING BOW, hustled along from the start, improved his position under strong handling and closed resolutely. STRANGE TIMES, hustled to the front, established a clear lead after disposing of GUNWALE, was bothered by the winner in the drive and tired thereafter. MAEFLEET showed an even effort. CYNICAL made up ground. NANAHCUB, in close quarters during the run to the back stretch, tired rapidly after five-eighths. GUNWALE quit. GRAND MARIE showed a dull effort.
