FIVE STREET FIGHT CASUALTIES FLINT, Mich., June 14.— Street fighting, which Flint has not witnessed since the great sit-down strikes of 1937, today sent five men the hospital, injured five more and brought arrests to nine men. Sporadic fighting during the night between A. F. of L. and C. I. O. automobile workers union members became running fight as reinforcements for both sides were called up. Automobiles of two workers were overturned in the melee and plate glass windows in the C. I. O. meeting hall were smashed. Rocks were hurled, baseball bats brought into play and fists swung the mounting bitterness between the rival unions reached new heights. A. F. of L. pickets before the General Motors Corporation-Fisher Body No. 1 plant, a majority of whose workers had refused to answer an F. of L. union strike call, precipitated the battle, police said.
