] | , i . 1 . 1 APPLICATIONS EXCEED SUPPLY More Stalls Requested at Thistle Down Than Track Management Has at Its Disposal. CLEVELAND, Ohio, June 14.— Sun-tanned and dusty, Harry Allshouse, president of Thistle Down, was at the track early this morning supervising the preparation of the Thistle Down. plant for the meeting, which will begin there July 15. Looking forward to a very successful meeting, Mr. Allshouse reported that he had received stall requests for more horses than the track can accommodate. Those applica- tions, he said, had come chiefly from horsemen now racing at Detroit and North Ran-1 dall. The plant is being improved in numerous ways. A crew of laborers is active daily repainting all the buildings, increasing and resurfacing the parking lot and redecorating the clubhouse. Every barn has been re-1 roofed. J. O. Brown, track superintendent, pronounced the track in splendid condition, even though few horses have been trained over it this year. «
