SHINE ONIGHT was a strong factor from the start, raced wide on the stretch turn, stood a drive gamely and might have been up in a few more strides. THE RANGER improved his position gradually, was inclined to swerve in the stretch, but continued resolutely to the end. VALDINA SPY raced prominently from the start, was on the extreme outside in the stretch and held on fairly well. SADIE F. took command without need of strong urging, continued to draw away on the turn, was vigorously roused soon after reaching the stretch and was again shaken up in the final sixteenth, continued well to hold her company safe, but had little left. ISOLENE, a keen factor from the start and taken under strong restraint as she swerved on the turn, careened to the inside suddenly in the drive and, coming again when straight, outstajed STAR BESS. STAR BESS, also a contender from the start and in hand for a half mile, held on well in the drive. MERRY PETE raced prominently from the start, was in close quarters for a brief time in the stretch and hung on well when clear. ITO began slowly. MASTER TIME showed nothing under timid handling. CARLA, reserved off the pace under steady restraint, but never far back and always in the best footing as she raced wide throughout, responded with good energy to take command soon after reaching the stretch and, holding on well, stood off the challenge of UNERRING. The latter, probably best and a strong factor from the start, was on the inside and the softer part of the track to the last eighth, came with fine belated speed after coming out and was rapidly overtaking the winner. CALEXICO settled into good stride slowly, entered contention with a rush when racing wide in the stretch and held on fairly well to the end.
