Best Horses at Lincoln Fields, Detroit, Cleveland and Fairmount Park Among the Entries. LATONIA, Ky., June 14. — Nominations for the stakes to be run during the twenty-seven-day summer meeting at Latonia, beginning June 29, are to be announced as soon as they can be checked and compiled and probably will be made public early next week. Entries for six of Latonias added money features close tomorrow, and nominations postmarked by midnight Thursday night will be acceptable. There is widespread interest in the La-C tonia meeting, and nominations for its stakes are coming in at a gratifying rate. Among horses being named for these features are some of the best now racing at Lincoln Fields, the Detroit Fair Grounds ant North Randall, as well as some of the more fash- ionable thoroughbreds which took part in the recent Fairmount Park season. While all of the horses named for Latonias stakes may not actually be on the grounds when the season opens, quite a few will be transferred here from time to time, the local track being within easy access of other mid-western racing centers. Latonia has sent personal representatives to North Randall and Detroit to solicit entries for the stakes, Cliff Burke doing missionary work at Detroit, and Cliff Huffnagel performing a similar service at North Randall. The stakes, which close tomorrow, are: Inaugural Handicap*— ,500 added, three-1 year-old and upward, one and one-sixteenth miles, to be run June 29. Independence Handicap — ,500 added, three-year-olds and upward, one and one-Q eighth miles, to be run July 4. Cincinnati Trophy— ,500 added, two-year- f olds, five and one-half furlongs, to be run i July 8. Charity Day Handicap — ,000 added, !, three-year-olds and upward, one and one-j. - sixteenth miles, to be run July 10. Quickstep Handicap— ,500 added, three-ir year-olds and upward six furlongs, to be run i July 15. Enquirer Handicap— ,500 added, three-m - year-olds and upward, one and one-sixteenth ti miles, to be run July 22. Latonia plans to add one more feature to o its summer program for the final days card A on July 29, but the conditions of this stake e will not be announced until later.
