ROYAL BLUE, hard hustled early to get to the front, set the pace to the stretch under good rating, drifted out on the turn, but came on again when put to punishment and was up in the closing strides. NICABE, well placed and a sharp factor from the start, took command when settled for the drive, held on determinedly, but just missed. VESUVIUS, never far back, came stoutly when called upon in the final quarter and gave a good effort. MIGAL FAY saved ground to the stretch turn, came to the inside thereafter and closed with a rush. LOVE QUEST finished fast after starting slowly. MICHIGAN BLUE tired after racing forwardly placed to the final eighth.
