Cape Cod Heads Field For Jennings Handicap Takes Up 122 Pounds in Pimlico Dash Event — Has Ten Opponents BALTIMORE, Md., May 2.— The fifteenth running of the ,000 added Jennings Handicap headlines the opening program of Preakness week at the Pimlico course of the Maryland Jockey Club. It attracted a fine field of eleven, and in addition to the top sprinters that have participated in the Free State sport since Bowie opened, the six-furlong dash will engage A. J. Sacketts Richmond and Mrs. T. Christophers Doublrab, who make a trek here from New York. Winner of the Rowe Memorial and Southern Maryland Handicaps at Bowie and third to Challedon and Mioland in the Philadelphia Handicap at Havre de Grace, Cape Cod will shoulder the top assignment of 122 pounds. The Philadelphia was a mile and a sixteenth, but Cape Cod was rested after the effort and yesterday had an "opener" for Mondays stake. Transfigure, winner of the Harford Handicap and third to Battle Jack and Impound in the Baltimore Spring Handicap on opening day, is slated to pick up his package of 119 pounds, and others named for the dash are J. W. Y. Martins Battle Jack and Abrasion, Ella K. Brysons Joe Ray, Brandywine Stables Madigama, Harry Richards Designator and Crispin Ogle-bays Ocean Blue. Doublrab journeyed from New York to Narragansett Park last Saturday to win the Bristol Handicap, and the son of She-rab is weighted at 116 pounds or one pound more than Abrasions assignment. Then follows Ocean Blue and Madigama under 114 pounds each and Battle Jack with an assignment of 113 pounds.
